system which truly empowers the cox and speeds the crew.
AeRowFin© is all about precision coxing, drag reduction and performance
enhancement.
All in one beautifully-finished, high-tech Carbon composite.
The product of intensive research and development, AeRowFin© was
designed by Carl Douglas for the 2000 British eight which then so splendidly won Olympic Gold.

How it works
By smoothly reshaping
the entire flow-field in its vicinity, AeRowFin© generates exactly
controlled side-forces (fluid-dynamic lift) to match the steering inputs just as wings & fins on advanced
aircraft do. Its intelligent fluid technology permits precise micro or macro course changes with smooth and immediate
response.
At all settings AeRowFin© incurs far less drag than other rudder
systems. Which is vital, race-winning technology, since every bit of induced drag is power lost and crew work wasted.
AeRowFin© is always working for you, with no delay & no dead-zone.
Its precise operation means less steering by cutting out over-steering and repeated course corrections. This further
reduces drag losses.
AeRowFin© enables you to hold your optimum course despite changing
conditions and the heat of battle. This was shown convincingly by Cambridge University in the 2004 Boat Race steering
battles (and confirmed by the Oxford cox's subsequent remarks). Cambridge used an AeRowFin©.
Oxford did not.
AeRowFin© is always working for you. Effortlessly it keeps you
straight. It facilitates smooth and deliberate course changes. It counters the tendency for the boat to heel when
steered. And always it is dissipating less of your crew's effort on fluid drag.
AeRowFin© is perfect for 6-lane racing. It is great in cross-winds.
And it is wonderful on winding courses with tactical steering. The "Bell-crank" is available as an option
and is a vee-ed t-bar, which prevents over-rotating the steering pin.
