Carl Douglas Racing Shells are the finest you will ever meet and the most advanced construction and hull forms of any racing boat. Our high-tech moulded wood composite shells have become the standard by which others are judged, and are prized by the sculler for their quality and durability.

Custom * Special
Further to the original Custom (mahogany hull/cedar deck) and the white CD-X (of similar wood/Kevlar multi-laminate construction, but outer skin of glass-protected Kevlar), we proudly introduce the Custom * Special – the Custom of your dreams, with a wide choice of wood, detail, styling and personalization. These are just a few examples:

No other boats are as beautiful or as well finished
On the Custom model we take great care to select and book-match the wood veneers on hull and decks, giving our racing machines the refined looks of classic furniture. Outer surfaces are meticulously sanded, sealed and varnished. The hull is Mahogany or Cedar with matching or contrasting decks.

The Custom * Special has your choice in every particular, eg. hull and/or decks of Black Walnut, Bird's Eye Maple, Dark Oak, etc, decorative details and inlays, inscription, accessories – all to be agreed, priced and built into your own unique specification. The CD-X is given a white polyurethane coating.

Finally, it is polished till it glows! The best possible racing finish. Supreme craftsmanship.

Fittings
All boats have hard-anodised AeRoWing riggers with AxioR pins and C-II gates, hard-anodised AussieRail slides, Lo-Glide single-action seats and fully-adjustable CD stretchers. For more information click here.
